June 2024
Embarking on the journey of the academic year 2024-2025, we're thrilled to share the enriching opportunities offered at Invicta Youth Theatre (part of Yew Tree Theatre School Sevenoaks LTD). Our aim is to deliver strong and diverse classes in musical theatre, dance, singing and acting. We follow the syllabus of: LAMDA.
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations. LAMDA has have long has been a cornerstone of success at our Academy. Recognised as the UK's largest Speech and Drama board, LAMDA offers a nationally acknowledged qualification in communication and performance, a vital aspect of a comprehensive education.
Beyond assessments, LAMDA examinations are designed to elevate communication standards and foster individual creative, intellectual, and social development. These assessments go beyond mere achievement; they provide a platform to develop essential life skills, including self-confidence and clear communication.
Preparation for examinations spans Grades 1–8 across various performance and communication options, catering to all levels of experience. Our dedicated LAMDA teachers guide pupils, determining suitable grades and exams based on individual capabilities and previous experience.
UCAS points are attached to Level 3 qualifications—Grades 6, 7, and 8, earning bronze, silver, and gold medals respectively.
Invicta Youth Theatre proudly offers LAMDA tuition alongside Saturday weekend classes covering a spectrum of performance and communication examinations. Students often explore a variety of exams throughout their time with us:
Acting: Focusing on character and context communication through monologues and duologues.

Devising Drama: Enhancing creativity by exploring and performing devised dramatic pieces.

Musical Theatre: Performing musical pieces, character introductions, and monologues.

Our LAMDA specialists, some of whom are experienced examiners, provide tailored weekly tuition sessions lasting 30 minutes per solo/combined exam. Sessions occur weekly, averaging 10 lessons per term. Academy Saturday runs for 3 hours rotating students through the disciplines. Invictayouththeatre.co.uk

Termly invoices are issued by Christina at Invicta Youth Theatre.
Examinations take place biannually at our private centre at Cranbrook Performing Arts school. Entry advice, examination fees, and withdrawal policies are outlined by Christina upon entry. In case of illness on exam day, LAMDA offers a Transfer Credit Voucher for a retake.
We tailor our teaching staff at the academy based on demand, kindly note that a full term's written notice is required. LAMDA lessons demand commitment from all stakeholders—parents, teachers, and pupils—with expectations for practice and preparation outside of lessons.
To request tuition, please contact Christina Yates director and LAMDA coordinator.
Confirmation of lesson arrangements will be communicated before the start of term. Lessons typically commence in the second full week of the term. During the term, teachers communicate directly with pupils for any updates with a weekly Saturday Academy update.
Cancellation requires a full term's written notice. Reapplication isn't necessary unless a term's notice has been given. This applies to both the main Saturday academy and LAMDA in schools.

Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Christina Yates Principal IYT and LAMDA coordinator Invictayouththeatre.co.uk
